The LL.B Programme, which is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), is designed primarily to enable graduates to enter the professional stage of training to be called to the Bar in Ghana. Students who wish to attend the professional training course at the Ghana School of Law must have passed the following courses under the programme: Law of Contract; Law of Torts; Criminal Law; Law of Immovable Property; Ghana Constitutional Law; Ghana Legal System and its History; Equity and Succession; Company Law; Commercial Law; Law of Taxation; and Law of Natural Resources or Environmental Law or Intellectual Property Law.


The LLB programme, apart from qualifying candidates for entry into the Ghana School of Law to pursue the professional Law course, also prepares the graduates for professional careers. There are employment opportunities for graduate lawyers in government service, local government and the private sector. The programme also aims at producing the much needed manpower to support the faculty as lecturers.

Category Two: Three-Year (Full-Time/Regular) LLB Programme
The Post-first degree LLB programme is a three-year course divided into six (6) semesters, with two semesters each year. Students who wish to become lawyers will be expected to complete the 7 core courses required for admission into the Ghana School of Law, which is the next stage in the process of qualifying as a lawyer in Ghana.

In addition to these 7 core subjects, the LLB students will be expected to study ten (10) other Law subjects including Jurisprudence, making it seventeen (17) Law subjects for the 3-year course of study.
